Brianna & Ricardo | Tucson Engagement Portraits

Brianna & Ricardo were the other new couple I had the chance to work with on Saturday. I always love working with new couples!!! We started at the UofA and then migrated down to the downtown area to finish up their engagement portraits. They seemed to nail their photos each time I took a picture, they must have studied up on my style or something . . .

Anyway, another awesome session with a super fun couple. They are getting married this coming September @ Hacienda Del Sol, of which I am really looking forward to! It’s a really nice place although I have never had the opportunity to shoot a wedding there yet. Thanks again Brianna & Ricardo, have a super Christmas!

Katie & Dennis

I’m blogging here from chilly SLC with quite a bit of snow outside.  Wish I had the Tucson weather, which was amazing this past weekend!  These last weeks in December are always my busiest and this weekend was no exception.  I had an awesome opportunity to work with Katie & Dennis and their engagement portraits.  We started downtown, meandered around some of the interesting parts and then concluded the session at the UofA campus.  Weather was perfect and we had a blast (atleast I did!!)

Katie & Dennis are getting married this coming April @ the Stillwell House (this is where Jessica was married in October, pics from Stillwell House).  I’m super excited about working with them and can’t wait till the wedding!  Thanks again Katie & Dennis, you guys really made my weekend awesome!

crystal | lifestyle portraits

I had the opportunity to spend some time with a friend that I’ve known since 7th grade . . . we go way back I guess :)   Crystal was visiting Tucson and we thought it would be fun to just go and get some fun portraits taken and do some catch up.  This type of work is a little bit of a departure from my style since I didn’t bring any off-camera lighting, just the pure natural light available.  Normally I’ll shoot quite a few shots with all natural lighting when I feel the portrait calls for it, but I still will bring my lighting gear along since more often than not I need a bit more control over the situation when it’s needed.  These were meant to be fun, casual, relaxed and free spirited I guess (that might have sounded corny, I know, haha!).

Anyway, I hope you enjoy!

Crystal & Todd!

Big kudos to Crystal & Todd for a fun day on Tuesday! We headed over to Trail Dust town for some fun portraits, made a quick stop at Long John’s (yes, the fast food joint, you’ll have to ask them all about it!) and then stopped off at the Tanque Verde Guest Ranch to finish up their engagement session.

Beautiful day for some awesome portraits, and their fun and laughter was just contagious :P   For all you photographers, processing was done with my own LR presets, Presetopia.com for details.

Crystal & Todd are getting married on probably the best day of the year . . . Feb 21 . . . my birthday :)   Thanks again guys, it was a lot of fun!

Arlene & Christo – Hindi Style!

I was honored to be a part of Arlene & Christo’s big day.  They have been planning for quite some time and it seemed that everything just fell into place at the very right moments!  I was particularly excited to photograph this wedding because I knew that their outfits, the decorations, food and guests were all going to be superb . . . and I was not let down!  They had their ceremony at their home, and then we headed over to Agua Caliente park for some group and formal portraits.  I’m extremely delighted to say that it was a beautiful day, the stars had aligned (literally, it was a significant day for them) and everything was as smooth as the music :)

Thanks again Arlene & Christo, it was a blast to work with you guys!

My Family

It sure has been quite a while since my family worked out a time for our own family portrait . . . the last time being just before Karen and I got married . . . 3 years ago.  Time flies, still can’t believe that it has been that long, but, definitely still overdue for a nice family portrait.  I happened to remember a super-secret location only known to very few people (well, maybe not, but I like to think I know something special).  Near the wonderful Sabino Canyon there was this dry riverbed (more likely a stream even when water is in it!) that just looked beautiful.  There was even some colorful leaves still on some of the small trees, so we got lucky.

The lighting was beautiful and sensational . . . and with al little help from some Pocket Wizard radio triggers, taking the photograph was the easy part.  Luckily everyone was good sports and we wrapped it up pretty quickly :)
