Andi & Tony – Tucson Zoo Engagement Photography

OK, so I’ve been waiting a long time to finally go to the zoo. It was WELL worth it, very fun place! It was actually smaller than I remember it, but it was still a whole lot of fun. Andi & Tony let it loose and man was it a blast! You guys rock! I don’t think I’ve laughed so hard during a session than with the turtle . . . and rolling . . . you’ll see in pic #3 I was already on the ground laughing . . . good times! We wrapped up at the zoo by the time they closed and they meandered on downtown to enjoy the rest of the great weather. It got a little chilly but still had a heck of a lot of fun. Here’s just a few, was hard to pick there were so many good ones! I can’t wait for their wedding in Tubac!

Kunz @ La Paloma | Family Portraits in Tucson Arizona

I finally had the chance to photograph a young family, who happen to be really good friends of mine, at a location not too distant from my home. La Paloma has a small “basin” before the entrance to the resort that is just a fun place, beautiful views and lush grass. The weather could not have been better! Wow, I wish it would stay like this the rest of the year, it was awesome!

Anyways . . . Brandon, Liz and Taevin are just one of the cutest families out there. Liz is expecting their 2nd son and they wanted to get their family portraits done sooner than later :D I had a blast working with them . . . I have to say, the final pic (the nice formal family pic) is buttah! That background is amazing!!!

Amber & Carraig: Wedding Photography in St. Croix, USVI

Well it’s taken me a while to finally prep and finalize Amber & Carraig’s complete wedding set.  3 days of working makes a lot of pictures, a lot of hard drive space, and a lot more time making them more awesome :)   A lot had to do with my frustrations with my computer giving me problems and errors left and right (PC), thus slowing down the process.  Ironically, using my Macbook while on the island was a fresh experience (long time PC user, but loving Mac more and more).  Combine PC frustrations + newfound Mac loving, and well, it makes you want to get a new Mac (coming soon . . .).  Enough of that talk, but more on their images.  Not much more to say, just enjoy the photos!

Tons of awesome details, awesome bling, relaxed expressions and a lot of fun.  Thanks again Amber & Carraig for letting me be part of something so special and intimate!

What is cooler than an abandoned, run-down, hurricane destroyed resort? St Croix Wedding Photographer

Not much in fact.  While on my stay on the beautiful island of St. Croix (US Virgin Islands) I had a chance to take some scenic drives and take in the beauty.  While out driving on the very far east end of the island, I stumbled upon an old hotel/resort right on the beach.  I knocked on some doors in the area and spoke with some long time locals about it, it had been completely thrashed and destroyed in hurricane Hugo of 1989.  A category 5+ that apparently most Americans are clueless to.  Anyway, it was the coolest place for some edgy and grundgy bridal portraits.

I texted Amber & Carraig to see if they would be up for it (after all they were enjoing their honeymoon already).  Luckily they were, and boy were they in for a treat.  It doesn’t get much better than this ladies & gentlemen.  I felt like James Bond with the whole exotic island, ravished old hotel, awesome weather with a beautiful bride to photograph.  I could only have dreamt about something this cool!

Enough jabber, enjoy the awesomeness :D

For the photographers and photo-junkies, here’s some quick setup shots taken by the groom (my assistant as well!)  Check out this hotel, isn’t it AWESOME?

It’s quite necessary to even lug around tons of expensive lighting gear to an island.  Good photographers never leave home without it!

Just Amber | US Virgin Islands Wedding Portraits

I keep getting subliminal text messages from the bride & groom about them wanting to see more pics, and even though my current mobile setup for editing and posting numerous photographs isn’t quite what I’m used to, I can get a few more :D

Every time I look through the images I’m just super excited about them, and you can probably tell by now!  Here we go with just a couple more of just Amber . . . then a post to come just of Carraig and the bling.  Thanks again all who have helped me get to where I am now!

This one could easily be the new cover for InStyle Weddings!

A couple more | St Croix Wedding Portraits

It’s so hard to not have time to look through all of their pictures, let alone want to work on them instantly. But, while doing a quick gander (2 hours is quick for me!) through some of their post wedding pics, I just had to share a few . . . they are that good.

Back in the early 1800s, St Croix was owned and controlled by the Dutch. It had a heavy slave population (like most of the Caribbean did) and they produced a lot of sugar cane. This sugar was manufactured in the sugar mills, and some of these old 18th century mills are still on the island. We took a couple of fun portraits near the Rust Op, and then later headed down to Sandy Point (one of the nicest beaches on the island). Fun day, nice weather . . . these photographs far exceeded my expectations (and they were very high to begin with!). Enjoy :)

Happy New Year . . . from the USVI!

Ringing in the New Year is always an exciting time for me. It means a time of contemplation, meditation and goal planning for the New Year, reflecting back on the year that has passed, but also, a great sense of gratitude floods my mind for all the many wonderful things that I have been able to experience. I personally thank all of you who have helped me make this year an amazing year! May you all be blessed with a prosperous New Year as we look to uncertainty and doubt . . . but may we hold our heads up high and continue onward to achieving the goals, aspirations and desires that we all have.

I had to share one quick picture, which absolutely blew me away today. Many of you know that today was Amber & Carraig’s wedding, on the beautiful island of St. Croix in the US Virgin Islands. Man, what an awesome day!!! The weather and lighting were just amazing, but as the say, a picture is worth 1000 words . . . I think this one adds a little more than just that!

Congratulations again Amber & Carraig!
