It’s been almost 8 years since I started shooting senior portraits, and every year it just keeps getting better and better. Not only is my photography improving every year, but seniors also bring more and more ideas and inspiration. I really do feed off my clients personality and ideas, and it makes the session that much better.
Taylor is lucky enough to kick off my 2014 year, and we drove up Mt Lemmon to find a spot that reminded him of one of his favorite hobbies: backpacking. Taylor admittidely wasn’t super excited about getting his portraits created, but as soon as we got going and I showed him some of them on my camera, I think he got super excited about seeing the rest.
Every session I force myself to try new things, new locations. I never want to fall into a habit of creating the same photograph twice, using the same location in the same way, etc. It’s a comment I hear frequently in my consultations how each photograph is different, and that makes me super happy because I feel like I’m still doing well in that regard No one is perfect, but in my pursuit to becoming better, I will NOT let myself stop trying to bring new stuff to the table no matter what I’m shooting.
Thanks for making 2014 a fantastic start to a new school year Taylor!
