cierra + adam // el conquistador wedding

I had been anticipating this wedding ever since I met with Cierra & Adam.  I knew they were going to have an awesome wedding from the beginning, but after getting to know them it was even more apparent how much fun it would be.  Once I shot their engagement session, it only fueled the fire!

gina & jonathan // jw marriot tucson wedding

It’s hard to put in to words how incredibly awesome Gina & Jonathan are.  They were so relaxed and ready to party, and let me do whatever I wanted for their portraits.  I could immediately tell it was a close group of friends that came in for the wedding, and most of them had known each other for 15+ years.  Needless to say the dance floor was off-the-charts crazy!  Such a beautiful day with awesome people, my job doesn’t get much better than this.

cierra + adam // engaged

Cierra & Adam are definitely in love, and are high school sweethearts too!  They were willing to try some funky ideas I had and we had a ton of fun roaming the UofA campus and in the downtown area as well.  I love working with couples that are head over heels for each other!

chris + don // engaged

I’ve known Don for a few years ever since I did some of his latest headshots.  Don recently got engaged to a wonderful, sweet woman and they are seriously the cutest couple ever.   We had a blast out in the Benson area, wish them congrats on their upcoming wedding!

Best of 2012

I can hardly believe that another year has come and gone, and I can’t even begin to express my gratitude to all of my clients, fans, critics, supporters, antagonists, blog-stalkers, and anyone and everyone that has helped me become a better photographer.  I never knew that my business would become what it has become today.  2012 has been the best year ever all thanks to you.  The ones who come back looking for more, who keep pushing me to try something new, to be better than I was the day before, and to those that offered the harshest critique.  Thank you.  Thank you all.  I have high hopes for 2013!

heather + scott // ritz carlton wedding

It feels surreal typing this, but this is my last wedding of 2012 and it definitely went out with a bang! Heather + Scott had an absolutely gorgeous wedding at the most beautiful venue in all of Arizona. It was a family centric event with lots of emotion, surprises, laughter and fun. Thank you for allowing me to capture such a special event in your lives!

kimberly + phil // wed

Kimberly + Phil are two awesome people that are REALLY in love.  They feel like long lost friends.  I had the pleasure of shooting their engagements in Nashville earlier this summer and they are seriously so much fun to just be around.  I think their family agrees and everyone at this wedding knew how to party.  Gonna miss these guys!

kim + phil // nashville engagement

It’s been a long and busy spring season (thankfully), and shortly after returning from my South American trip to Brazil, I had a super fantastic session in Nashville with Kim + Phil. These two lovebirds are getting married later this year in Tucson and I really cannot wait for their wedding! On the culture & fun scale, Nashville > Tucson. Easy. We even got to see Tim McGraw & Kenny Chesney performing at a live concert there, although it was about 1/2 mile away and we could see it from a bridge, but nonetheless, I feel like I’ve finally seen Nashville :) Congrats to Kim + Phil!!

erin + dean // ventana canyon wedding

I’ve been somewhat connected to Erin & Dean for a few years now, back when I photographed Erin’s cousin Katie’s wedding in 2009!  Almost 3 years to the date to be exact!  Such a beautiful wedding ceremony at a church I had never been to before, St. Thomas the Apostle, in the Tucson foothills.  I was worried it was going to be a mega hot day since the forecast was high 90s.  Thankfully we were all pleasantly surprised that it was just bright, and not scorching hot.  These two love birds are very much in love and it was an honor to have worked with their family on such a special day.  Ventana Canyon is a beautiful place and it couldn’t have been a better day for a spring wedding.  Thanks again Erin + Dean!

heather + scott // ritz carlton

I love these guys.  They just fit so well together and are oozing with love and spontaneity, its too cute :)  We had an awesome afternoon at the Ritz Carlton Dove Mountain golf club.  It’s a gorgeous place and the weather was simply amazing.  Can’t wait for their wedding this fall at the resort!

debbie + aaron // wed

It has been a lot of fun getting to know Debbie & Aaron.  They brought me out to Chicago for their awesome engagement portraits last summer, and it was then that I could really tell that they were really in love with each other.  I anticipated that emotions would run high on the wedding, and they definitely did.  They are both some of the most thoughtful, caring and loving couples I’ve had the pleasure to work with.  It was a beautiful day in Tucson, and Ventana Canyon was an awesome venue to work with.  Thank you Debbie & Aaron for trusting my vision and allowing me to create some awesome portraits of your day!

ashley + troy // wed

It’s hard to write so little because there is so, so much to say.  Much of it really isn’t mine to say either, so I’ll leave it with this: Ashley + Troy are one incredible couple.  By saying that they have really been through a lot together would be a serious understatement.  The amount of personal sacrifice and hardship that people go through in life hopefully equates to greater appreciation for life’s joys and blessings…and Ashley + Troy are the epitome of happiness, joy, kindness, love and respect…all with great abundance.  It truly was a special honor for me to participate in such an amazing event for both of them.  I knew that they would be an incredible couple to photograph ever since Troy surprised Ashley with an engagement session, and it just so happened to snow that day.  Coincidence?  I think not.

amie + steve // engaged

My beautiful sister gets married tomorrow, and I’m so excited for her!  We shot these last week at the wonderful La Paloma resort.  Can you see the resemblance?  Love you Amie!

laura + matt // engaged

I’ve been looking forward to this day for quite a while.  Laura & I first met sitting next to each other in our Sophomore year in High School in a Marine Biology class.  It was a really easy class because the teacher was really spacey, but, it was fun.  We were best of friends throughout the rest of High School, and so I was super excited and happy when I found out Laura was engaged.  Matt, the cool and awesome dude that he is, planned a surprise engagement (I guess most all of them are surprises) with cooperation of the Reid Park Zoo.  Matt had made a cake, including a “Will you marry me?” message inside the polar bear exhibit.  So, as they were casually roaming around the zoo, they came to the polar bears and there it was, Matt’s proposal.  I’m sure sparks flew and all that other happy stuff that goes on during a proposal too.  They ride Harley’s too, which I think is totally rad.  Fun times.  Thanks Laura & Matt!

ashley & troy // engaged

I’ve been excited about posting these images for a few weeks now because there is soooo much to like about Ashley & Troy…and about their pics too! Ashley was a bridesmaid in Emma & Danny’s weddingalmost 2 years ago, and apparently has stalked my blog ever since. Pretty flattering to say the least! It gets better :) Troy planned a day for engagement portraits, and Ashley thought her sister was going to be the photographer. I pulled up to the location and was getting my gear ready, Ashley recognized me and said hi, but she had no idea that I was going to be the one photographing for them. She just thought it was a pretty big coincidence that I happened to be in the same place, at the same time, and for the same purpose as they were. I played along for a few minutes before telling her that her sister couldn’t make it and I would be filling in. I’m glad she didn’t mind the swap :) It feels kind of weird being the surprise, but it was certainly fun to be a part of it!

brooke + rick // wed

I’ve known Brooke & Rick for a few years now. It all started back when I was part of a big contest to give away an amazing engagement prize to one lucky couple. All over Tucson, by the thousands, people submitted their love story to the local news channel for a chance to win an all expense paid engagement package. It included a lot of amazing goodies, including a very expensive and beautiful Tacori diamond ring. The one rule was, that if you were selected to win, you had to propose to your fiance. That is precisely what Rick did, and I was there to document their proposal. Fast forward 2 years later, Brooke & Rick got married last month and it was one of the most special, loving, emotional and fun weddings I’ve ever experienced. Their love is so apparent, and they were surrounded by many friends and family that shared the same feelings. This is a wedding that I will always remember. Brooke, Rick, THANK YOU.

sonya + eliezer // tucson wedding

Wow. Thats really all that comes to my mind whenever I think of this wedding. They wouldn’t stop smiling, kissing, loving each other. The day was filled with lots of family, friends, laughter, tears, fun, and a lot of love. This is a real wedding, with real people, and I enjoyed every single second of it. Thank you guys for trusting my vision and allowing me to be part of your day!

erin + dean // engaged

Erin + Dean are FUN.  They are madly in love, and they know how to joke around and laugh, a LOT.  Downtown tucson is always a great place, but I’m really really glad we were able to try a new spot on Mt. Lemmon which was just absolutely gorgeous!  Really excited for their wedding this coming spring, can’t wait!  Thanks Erin & Dean!

nicole + brian // wedding

It has been a few months since I’ve done a wedding in Tucson, but, it’s fall and that means its wedding season in Tucson.  It was supposed to be a bright beautiful day, but we did get some rain clouds, and even showers, right when the ceremony was supposed to start.  Nicole & Brian were both calm and collected, nothing was going to phase them!  However, I secretly wanted to shoot in the rain :)  The thought shooting a ceremony in the rain would be uber romantic…but thats me!  I can’t believe how much FUN both of them have together.  It’s very clear that they are in love, AND are the perfect match for each other!

debbie + aaron // chicago

Last week I had the awesome privilege to travel to Chicago and hang out with Debbie & Aaron.  They showed me around, we ate some awesome food, and we got some awesome photos in the mean time.  I hadn’t been to Chicago since 1994 so it was wonderful to finally go back and see what an amazing place it is!  Debbie & Aaron are getting married next March in Tucson and I really cannot wait for their wedding!!!  Thanks again Debbie & Aaron!

michelle + ivan // seattle wedding

I had the awesome privilege to travel to Seattle to photograph Michelle & Ivan’s wedding.  Coincidentally, I saw no rain and actually got a sunburn (that’s not supposed to happen).  I was also honored to have my buddy Sergio Mottola tag along and photograph a lot of the behind-the-scenes of what happened throughout the day.  They were married in the Seattle LDS Temple and afterwards we focused on creating some casual and fun portraits in the downtown Seattle area.  Their reception was at a pretty cool dance studio in north Seattle with THE coolest gourmet dinner idea ever: waffles.  A beautiful weekend that could not have been any better!

lindsey + brian // wedding

What an incredible wedding!  Lindsey + Brian seriously planned the perfect day.  Everything went soooo smooth, it was definitely meant to be.  The Stillwell House is one of my favorite local wedding venues.  It offers a unique setting with a lot of charm and variety mixed in.  A very emotional morning and ceremony was topped off with a smashing reception party that had some serious groove to it.  Thanks for letting me come tag along!

sonya + eliezer // engagements

Another fun engagement session, dogs always make it fun!  We started at the University of Arizona and then headed to the downtown area for some more urban portraits.  Beautiful light (albeit a tad hot out), but I had a blast working with Sonya + Eliezer.  Can’t wait for their fall wedding when it will be much cooler too :)

lindsey + brian // engagements

This is one of the only times I have ever been up to Mt. Lemmon for any kind of portraits.  Lindsey + Brian love the outdoors and we decided it would be a great location!  I need to come more often because it was just downright beautiful up there.  Fun + love always works out in the end, and I can’t wait to post their wedding images too!  Congrats to Lindsey + Brian!

kelley + matt // tanque verde guest ranch

So it has officially felt like forever since my last blog post.  May has been a whirlwind of a month and I’m not even close to getting a break yet!  I had a ton more senior portraits, 2 weddings, family portraits in Texas and then a wedding in Seattle.  I’m ready for a break, but can’t wait to share all of these amazing portraits.
