Kristyn is another sibling I’m blessed to have worked with. Both her and her sister are absolute naturals and couldn’t have a better time with them. Thanks for trusting in me again!
I honestly haven’t laughed so hard during any portrait session, ever, and these fine ladies are proof that life gets better with age! When they first called to schedule their portraits they said they were a fun group of girls and they absolutely lived up to that expectation. Thank you for making it so enjoyable!
Cierra & Adam are definitely in love, and are high school sweethearts too! They were willing to try some funky ideas I had and we had a ton of fun roaming the UofA campus and in the downtown area as well. I love working with couples that are head over heels for each other!
I’ve been excited to post this session for a few weeks now. It was such a fun day and little Coco is the cutest little girl I’ve ever met. It gives me something to really look forward to with my own children! The Morris’ love to enjoy a good time at the park, relax with some amazing Frost gelato, painting and picnics at home. It wouldn’t have been a perfect day without bath time and some jumping on the bed. What a beautiful family!
It’s been almost 2 years since I first photographed my first ABC book for Landon. I’ve done a few more since then, and now, Landon’s little brother Cade makes his debut. He’s a very independent little guy and doesn’t sit still for long. But, for the most part, I think he likes being in front of the camera. Each day that I would return to create more photographs, he seemed excited about it. Which photo is your favorite?
Yep, two sets of twins on the blog in a row, I think that’s a record JJ + Ashley were super awesome and just couldn’t stop having fun one photo after the other! Tubac was a perfect place for their photos, and also some more just for JJ. Just love the light in these! Thanks JJ + Ashley!
I really had a blast working with Haili…and her personality is gushing in her portraits! Thank you for an awesome shoot, some of my very favorites!
Another fun engagement session, dogs always make it fun! We started at the University of Arizona and then headed to the downtown area for some more urban portraits. Beautiful light (albeit a tad hot out), but I had a blast working with Sonya + Eliezer. Can’t wait for their fall wedding when it will be much cooler too
Paisley was meant for Bisbee. I knew it when we first met and started talking about her style, taste, and what she and her mom were looking for. It’s been quite a while since I had been there, but I had a blast working with both of them. You wouldn’t even know from the pictures that it was EXTREMELY windy the entire day, but Paisley totally rocked this one. Totally new locations that we found on the side of the road. I love my job. Thanks Paisley!
Weather in Tucson lately has been a little on the dull side, with full cloud coverage and lots of rain in the past two weeks. Not that I am complaining, it just makes it a little drab for photography on some days. Evyn + Jandro have good luck on their side, because the day we headed out for their engagement session we had some of the best weather of the entire year. Bright sun, light clouds, mid 70 temperature = awesome portraits. We started at the University of Arizona and later headed downtown for a more urban feel. I loved finding new locations and trying something new! They were totally relaxed and just had a blast, which are the two most important ingredients in an awesome photoshoot recipe. I can’t wait to photograph their wedding this coming October at The Tucson Country Club. Evyn is a SUPER talented hair stylist, who recently was invited to participate in an international styling event in Paris (holy cow thats so cool!), and Jandro is an aspiring cinematographer, check out his stuff. Thanks again guys for an amazing time!

For the many of you that followed the “Platinum Engagement Contest” sponsored by Sheffields Diamonds, myself and the other sponsors, the contest ended last week and the winners were selected. Brooke & Rick are a very deserving couple and their love is so tangible its awesome! As part of the contest, I provided the future bride & groom with a complimentary engagement session, and also to document the amazing day they were about to have. The winners received the following: 1ct Platinum Diamond ring by Tacori, engagement session and photojournalist documentation of their engagement, Allison limousine provided the transportation to the Imagen Creative Hair Salon, return to the Westin La Paloma who also provided a complimentary 1 night stay in one of their awesome suites, including dinner and so much more. The day was set for a truly magical afternoon and I was so excited to be a part of it. I must say, I’ve photographed some pretty special events and traveled to some really exotic places, but this engagement is not only the second real engagement that I have photographed (see Amanda & Jason’s for the first!), but, this one ranks up there with the most memorable moments I have photographed.
The day started at the Imagen Spa for their pampering. Rick obviously didn’t need a hair trim, but the staff was very accommodating for their special event. We then traveled back to the Westin La Paloma for some quick portraits before dinner. Brooke knew that she was going to end the night as a newly engaged women, but she didn’t know how nor when. Rick and I have previously planned the perfect spot: atop the 2nd floor balcony near the ballrooms. It offered a tremendous view and perfect location for such an amazing event. As we meandered around getting some awesome portraits en-route to the final engagement ring rendezvous point, the hotel had prepared a nice table with some champagne and the ring for Rick’s proposal. As we walked up the stairs, I don’t know if Brooke was expecting it, but she must have known as she saw the table, champagne and ring box. It was a whirlwind of excitement, and as much as I wanted to sit back and watch the moment unfold, I was busy trying to stay out of their hair and photograph the event at the same time. I didn’t hear a word that Rick said, but he had obviously prepared something. Of course she said yes and a celebration ensued. I took a few more awesome portraits of their excitement and the awesome view from the balcony and then left to let them enjoy their moment alone.
We met up again as they were ready for dinner and spent a little while more with them. Brooke even trusted me with the brand new ring (which is obviously the most expensive ring I have probably photographed), which turned out to be an AWESOME ringshot . . . won’t lie I had to finish it off with something different, so I had a great idea of photographing them going back to their hotel room . . . I think it worked
Big thanks to everyone who was involved with the preparation and publication of the event, it was awesome to be a part of it all!
To all you photographers, consider this a sneak peak for the latest presets from Presetopia, Presets v2 baby!
It’s been a while since I had the chance to work with Samantha for her Senior Portraits; still getting caught up on a number of things since the big studio open house and I’m just now getting back to nurturing my somewhat lonely blog . . . lot of new things coming up and a lot of new stuff to blog! Samantha was super awesome to work with, very natural in front of the camera and has a smile to die for! She’s very laid back and positive about everything and we had a blast working together. We wanted something custom and unique for her portraits. Samantha used to ride horses a lot, plays softball (and other sports as well) and enjoys fashion and wants to look into modeling. We first headed over to the Tanque Verde Guest Ranch for some relaxed and casual portraits, traveled back to Vail at her high school for some totally rad sports portraits, and then cruised on downtown to work the fashion stuff. My assistant Kyle joined us, along with her sister, and we had a totally rockin’ time downtown. I must say, this is one of my favorite sets to date!
If you’re looking to have your senior portraits done, we can’t emphasize enough the importance of hiring a professional! Sure you can go to the mall, working with a large studio where you’ll be photographed by a staff employee, but you cannot pass up the quality and professional care that we provide. You are capturing your final Senior moments; this is art, not just someone that takes pictures, but a trained artist that knows how to bring the best out of you!
I don’t get a whole lot of requests for professional business portraits in Tucson, usually because it’s often something I overlook on the marketing end. I don’t consider these “run and gun” type of jobs but approach them with the same care and attention as any other type of portrait.
Many business professionals overlook such an important role a professional portrait can be. Potential customers can make a more personal connection on many levels if you use your portrait on your website, business cards, marketing materials, etc . . . It puts a face to a name. Most professionals understand this concept, BUT, I know lots of people (and I’m sure you do to) that have really bad pictures. A bad picture is WORSE than no picture. Know anyone that hasn’t said “cheese” in a while? I promise I’ll never make you say that though.
Just thought I’d show a few recent examples
Based on their portraits, how many of these people would you NOT want to meet? I hope your portrait is doing work for you in ways you never thought, and hopefully not working against it’s goal.
